I first heard of Dianetics about August in year 1950 and received my copy of L. Ron Hubbards Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health through a New Zealand book importer three months later. From the very first chapter, it seemed to me that Dianetics held a logical and scientifically presented explanation as to the basic source of ones inherent problems which really rang true. Moreover, it also seemed that L. Ron Hubbards basic Dianetic theory was easily comprehensible and capable of being standardly put into practice by almost anyone who wished to help his neighbour. This conviction became even more real approximately one year later upon reading Ron Hubbards `Science of Survival with its accompanying `Chart of Human Evaluation and `Tone Scale.
A short while later (1953), when Ron Hubbards new Scientology philosophy was first becoming published and circulated, the expansion of his theories to embrace life in all its facets again appealed to me because of the simple element of truth which seemed to pervade his writings.
All in all, I find my daily life immeasurably the better for having studied and endeavored to follow the principles and teachings of Scientology. Without these benefits I would assuredly have yet remained in a state of relative mystery about myself, mankind and life in general.
